Flutter Development: One Codebase. iOS + Android + Web.
AWDS builds cross-platform applications with Flutter that deliver native performance from a single Dart codebase. Ship to iOS, Android, and web simultaneously — with pixel-perfect UI, 60fps animations, and up to 40% lower development cost than building separate native apps. No compromises. No "almost native" wrappers. Real compiled performance on every platform.
Building Twice Is a Luxury Most Budgets Can't Afford
You need to be on both iOS and Android. But maintaining two separate codebases with two development teams means double the cost, double the bugs, and features that ship weeks apart. The old cross-platform solutions (React Native, Cordova) traded performance for convenience. Flutter changed the equation.
2x Cost
Dual native development means two teams, two codebases, two sets of bugs. A $50K app becomes $90K+ when you build iOS and Android separately
Feature Gap
With dual native, one platform always lags behind. iOS gets a feature in March, Android in May. Your users notice. Your reviews suffer
JS Bridge
React Native relies on a JavaScript bridge that adds 16-32ms latency to every interaction. Users feel the lag. Flutter compiles to native ARM code — no bridge, no jank
Why Flutter
The Technical Case for Flutter in 2026
Flutter isn't a compromise — it's an architectural advantage. Google's UI toolkit compiles directly to native ARM code, renders its own pixels via its proprietary rendering engine, and maintains a single widget tree across platforms.
Compiled to Native ARM
Unlike React Native (JS bridge) or Cordova (WebView), Flutter compiles Dart to machine-level arm machine code. The result: 60fps animations, instant gesture response, and startup times identical to native apps.
Pixel-Perfect Custom UI
Flutter owns every pixel on screen via its rendering engine (proprietary rendering engine). No platform widget limitations. Complex animations, custom paint, and brand-specific UI that looks identical on iOS and Android.
Native Feature Access
Need native platform features? Flutter's platform channels call native platform code directly. HealthKit on iOS, HMS on Android — no feature is off-limits. Zero abstraction penalty.
Hot Reload = Fast Iteration
Sub-second hot reload preserves app state while reflecting code changes instantly. Designers and developers iterate in real-time. Feature development cycles are 30-50% shorter than native.

FAQ
Flutter Development — Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about cross-platform app development with Flutter
A Flutter cross-platform app typically costs 35-45% less than building two separate native apps. You maintain one codebase instead of two, need one development team instead of two, and ship features simultaneously to both platforms. For a mid-complexity app, this translates to saving $30,000-$80,000 on initial development alone.
35–45%
Cheaper Than Two Native Apps
Yes. Flutter compiles directly to native ARM machine code — there is no JavaScript bridge or WebView layer. Independent benchmarks show Flutter apps achieve 60fps animations and startup times within 5-10% of fully native apps. For 95% of business applications, the performance difference is undetectable by users.
Absolutely. Flutter has full access to every native platform capability through platform channels. Camera, GPS, fingerprint/Face ID, push notifications, NFC, Bluetooth, ARKit, HealthKit — all accessible. When a plugin does not exist, we write custom native bridges in days, not weeks.
A typical MVP launches on both App Store and Google Play in 6-8 weeks. A full-featured enterprise app takes 12-16 weeks. This is 30-50% faster than dual native development because you write shared business logic once and hot reload accelerates the iteration cycle significantly.

MVP on Both Stores
Flutter can call native platform code directly with zero performance penalty. If you need deep HealthKit integration on iOS or custom Bluetooth protocols on Android, we write the native layer and expose it to Flutter seamlessly. There is no feature that Flutter cannot access — it is a question of architecture, not limitation.
Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance plans that cover OS update compatibility (critical for iOS annual releases), performance monitoring, bug fixes, and feature additions. Our CI/CD pipeline enables one-click deployments to both stores, so updates reach your users within hours, not weeks.

One Dart codebase now serves both app stores, which is what we hired them for and what we got. Honest footnote: early on, the handoff between their designers and ours needed two or three extra loops before both platforms felt right. After that settled, releases became pleasantly dull — build once, ship everywhere, close the laptop.

Our Android release used to trail iOS by a few sprints, and enterprise prospects noticed during demos. That gap is simply gone — one merge, both platforms, same afternoon. Finance liked the budget line too: we retired a whole parallel workstream when we consolidated onto Flutter.

I came in as the resident skeptic. A health app that streams from Bluetooth sensors and redraws live charts is precisely the workload where cross-platform frameworks usually fold — I put that on record in the first meeting. AWDS asked for two weeks to build a proof of concept instead of arguing. The prototype held a steady frame rate with three peripherals connected, on a mid-range Android no less, and the production app has kept that standard. I still prefer native by instinct — I just can no longer justify it on evidence for this product.

Investors assumed we had two development teams. We had one codebase, one deadline and AWDS. Nobody at the demo could tell.

Vacation rentals meant we needed guests on mobile and property owners on the web, and I was budgeting for two separate projects. Same Dart code runs all three targets. Owners update calendars in a browser, guests book from the sofa, and my backlog is one list instead of three. Early days for the web side still — but nothing so far has made me miss having separate builds.
