Case / Product feeds

Your catalogue flows into Google and Yandex Market on its own

To show products in Google Shopping or on Yandex Market, the marketplace needs a feed file: title, description, price, image and link for every product. It is usually exported by hand or built by a separate service — and a week later the feed prices no longer match the site.

Here the site builds the feeds itself: one per language version, in its language and currency, rebuilt every night from the same data the shopper sees.

Who it is for

When you sell through marketplaces, not only on your site

Online stores and manufacturers that list products in Google Shopping and on Yandex Market — and do not want to maintain the catalogue twice.

Marketing

Shopping campaigns get a fresh catalogue every morning: new products are already in the feed, discontinued ones are already gone.

Store owner

A price is changed in one place — on the site. Overnight it reaches both feeds, in roubles and in dollars, with no manual exports.

A growing catalogue

Products are read in batches of 500, so the catalogue is never loaded into memory all at once.

One product card

One product — two feeds, no double work

On the left — the item in the Google feed, on the right — the same product in the Yandex Market feed. Title, description, price and image come from one product card; each marketplace gets them in its own format.

One product in the two feeds of the English storefront: the Google feed on the left, the Yandex Market feed on the right; price 99.00 USD and 99 USD, the same title and description
Every storefront

The Russian site gets a Russian feed, the English site an English one

The feeds live at /feeds/google-merchant.xml and /feeds/yandex-market.yml on every version of the site. The marketplace receives exactly what a shopper of that version sees.

Language

Titles, descriptions and the catalogue path are in the storefront’s language. The Russian feed never mixes with the English one.

Currency

The price is converted into the storefront currency at the same rate as on the site: roubles in the Russian feed, dollars in the English one.

Links and images

Every item links to the product page of its own site version. If a storefront has its own product image, that image goes into the feed.

Only what can be bought

The feed never promises what is not there

Marketplaces reject products without a price or an image and penalise links that lead nowhere. So the feed filters out everything a shopper could not order.

  • Disabled and hidden. a product taken off the storefront or hidden from the catalogue does not get into the feed
  • Out of stock. left out by default; you can keep such products marked “out of stock” — one setting
  • No price. a product with a zero price goes to no marketplace
  • No image. stays out of the Google feed: Google rejects such products

Checked on the live site

  • Both Google feeds hold 544 links to products and images. Every one of them opens.
  • We checked the price of every one of the 136 products in both feeds against its product page: 134 matched. Two products with a plan choice show a different starting price on the page — we are sorting them out separately.
  • The build log: for the last 10 nights in a row the feeds were rebuilt at the same time.
Settings

Feed rules in the admin panel, no developer needed

Each feed can be switched on or off for a single site version, categories can be excluded, and wording can be adjusted for the marketplace only.

Google feed settings in the admin panel: enable, product condition, Google category, excluded categories and feed text replacements
  • Exclude categories. Google and Yandex Market each have their own list — gift cards, for example, can stay on the site only
  • Text replacements. a phrase changes in the Google feed only — your pages stay as they are
  • Product condition. new, refurbished or used — for the whole feed
  • Store name. a short store name and the company name for Yandex Market
Nothing extra

The feed is part of your site, not one more subscription

No export service

The site builds the feeds itself: no separate feed service to connect, pay for and keep in sync.

One source of data

Price, availability and texts come from the same place the storefront takes them from — no second catalogue to maintain.

The marketplace fetches it

The feed address is entered in the marketplace account once — after that it fetches the fresh file on its own schedule.

Let your catalogue reach the marketplaces on its own

We will connect product feeds to your store: both marketplaces, every site version, selection rules for your catalogue. Need the whole store? See our development service.
